Roger Deakins has joined the Blade Runner sequel as cinematographer, reteaming with director Denis Villeneuve.

Deakins’ illustrious resume has netted him 12 Oscar nominations—from The Shawshank Redemption to No Country for Old Men to Unbroken—and he is set to receive the Pierre Angenieux Excellens in Cinematography Award at this year’s Cannes Film Festival on May 22. Villeneuve and Deakins have worked together twice previously, on Prisoners and Villeneuve’s Cannes film, Sicario.

Deakins has been nominated for many of his collaborations with the Coen brothers, including Fargo and True Grit, as well as his work on films like Skyfall.

The Blade Runner sequel is set to begin production in summer of 2016, with Harrison Ford reprising his role as Rick Deckard from a script by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green. Ryan Gosling has been mentioned to be in talks for a lead role, but he was not included in the recent press release.
