Q with Tom Power/ CBC Radio
Paul Sun-Hyung Lee and Jean Yoon accepted their roles on Kim’s Convenience because they felt that, in a landscape of very white television, it’s an honour to amplify stories about immigrants.
Kim’s Convenience is a show about a family of Korean-Canadians who own a convenience store in Toronto, and the comedy in their everyday lives.
The second season of Kim’s Convenience premieres tonight (Sept. 26) on CBC-TV and Lee and Yoon talk to Tom Power about the show and diversity in television as a whole.
