The Toronto company scored noms for Odd Squad and three other series, while Guru Studios’ Justin Time GO! and Thunderbird’s Beat Bugs are also up for awards.

Sinking Ship Entertainment scored a whopping 27 nominations for the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards, including 15 for Odd Squad.

Thanks to five Emmy nominations for the all-new Amazon original preschool series Bookaboo, as well as Annedroids, Dino Dan and Odd Squad (produced with The Fred Rogers Company), the Toronto-based producer surpassed its total of 20 noms in 2016.

Odd Squad was the most-nominated show ahead of Sesame Street, which received 10. The only shows to receive more nominations were four U.S. soaps: The Bold and the Beautiful, The Young and the RestlessDays of Our Lives and General Hospital.

Bookaboo and Dino Dan: Trek’s Adventures were nominated in the Outstanding Children’s Preschool Series category, while Annedroids and Odd Squad are up for the Outstanding Children’s Series prize.

Elsewhere, Guru Studios’ Justin Time GO! (Netflix) and Thunderbird’s Beat Bugs (Netflix) were nominated for Outstanding Writing in a Preschool Animated Program. Beat Bugs received five noms in total, with director Josh Wakely also in the running for the Outstanding Directing in a Preschool Animated Program prize.

As well, Peg+Cat, produced by Toronto’s 9 Story Media Group and Pittsburgh-based The Fred Rogers Company, was nominated for three prizes, including Outstanding Preschool Children’s Animated Program.

This year’s 44th awards ceremony of the Daytime Emmys will take place in L.A. on April 30. The Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards gala will be held on April 28.
