General

The Thunderbird Group of Companies is pleased to announce that they have received 12 Canadian Screen Awards nominations. Their original multi-camera comedy Package Deal, which just completed its second season on City, tells the story of three overly close brothers and the woman who comes between them. Package Deal earns its first of three nominations in the Best Direction in a Comedic Series category for “I Love You?” directed by Adam Weissman.

Package Deal’s Julia Voth is nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Continuing Leading Comedic Role for her role as Kim. And comedy veteran Jay Malone is nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Supporting Role or Guest Role in a Comedic Series for his role as Ryan.

In addition to nominations for Package Deal, Thunderbird is pleased to announce that Charlie Storwick of Some Assembly Required – the popular YTV hit about an eclectic group of teenagers who run a toy company – is nominated for Best Performance in a Children’s or Youth Program or Series for her breakout role as Piper.

Lifetime Original Movie, Baby Sellers from Reunion Pictures: A Thunderbird Company, earned an impressive 7 nominations, notably Best Dramatic Mini-Series or TV Movie and Best Direction in a Dramatic Program or Mini-Series for director, Nick Willing.  Inspired by true events, the captivating television movie explores the shocking international criminal enterprise of infant trafficking.

Capping off the nominations the sci-fi, action drama, Continuum, earns a nomination for Best Dramatic Series. The Showcase hit series recently announced after much anticipation, that it will be back for its fourth and final season.
