City announced today its fall 2013 premiere dates for 16 new and 12 returning series. City continues to deliver an impressive roster of fresh new series and proven fan favourites this fall, beginning Monday, Sept. 9.
Million Second Quiz kicks of City’s fall schedule Monday, Sept. 9 with two weeks of electrifying live competition. Hosted by Ryan Seacrest (American Idol), the series features participants testing the limits of their knowledge as they battle each other in intense bouts of trivia for 12 consecutive days and nights. Additional details about Million Second Quiz will be announced at a later date.
Anchoring City’s stellar fall lineup are the season’s best new comedy series, including: Chuck Lorre’s hot new sitcom Mom, starring Anna Faris; The Crazy Ones, starring Academy Award winner Robin Williams; cop comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine featuring an arresting performance by Andy Samberg; Super Fun Night, starring outrageous Aussie comic Rebel Wilson; Dads, from Emmy Award winner Seth MacFarlane, starring Seth Green and Giovanni Ribisi; Back in the Game, starring Academy Award nominee James Caan; and homegrown comedy Package Deal, created by Andrew Orenstein and starring Canadian funnyman Harland Williams.
Joining the lineup after salacious returning series Revenge is the sultry new drama Betrayal, which centres on two lovers caught in an affair, a murder investigation, and an impossible situation. Next, City takes viewers down the rabbit hole with a foray into fantasy in Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. From magical worlds to a real-life dream-come-true, new scripted drama Lucky 7 explores the transformative nature of a lottery windfall on the lives and families of seven individuals.
Among City’s dramas and comedies this season are four new original series including The Project: Guatemala, which puts the “drama” in “drama queen” when it transports nine privileged adults from cushy living in Canada to a life-changing experience in the depths of rural Guatemala. Additionally, new original reality series Meet The Family takes the uncomfortable experience of “meeting the parents” to a whole new level. In each episode, love interests — unaware that they’ve been set up by their partners — enter a house filled with actors whose task it is to make their first encounter as awkward as possible, all while multiple hidden cameras record their every move.
Also this fall, beloved and critically-acclaimed comedy Modern Family delivers laughs each night with two back-to-back episodes airing in strip, starting Monday, Sept. 23.
Rounding out City’s notable schedule are new seasons of smash-hit comedy series 2 Broke Girls and Modern Family, along with New Girl, The Mindy Project, Parks and Recreation, How I Met Your Mother, The Middle, and Raising Hope. City also welcomes back addictive sleeper-hit series Scandal and dystopian drama Revolution, along with guilty pleasure The Carrie Diaries.
