2017 Canadian Screen Award Nominees Announced – Kim’s Convenience, Beat Bugs, Highway Thru Hell

It was announced today that the Thunderbird Group of Companies received 14 Canadian Screen Award Nominations. Thunderbird would like to congratulate the team at Great Pacific Media for Highway Thru Hell, which received two nominations, Atomic Cartoons for Beat Bugs – nominated for Best Animated Series, and our Kim’s Convenience team, who received a total of 11 nominations, including Best Comedy Series, and Best Performance by an Actor and Actress in a Comedy Series.

The 2017 Canadian Screen Awards were announced this morning in Toronto. Canadian Screen Week will be held from March 6-12, and Thunderbird is a proud sponsor of the awards this year. Below is the full list of nominations from the Thunderbird Group:

  2. Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Continuing Leading Comedic Role: Paul Sun-Hyung Lee
  3. Best Performance by an Actress in a Continuing Leading Comedic Role: Andrea Bang
  4. Best Performance by an Actress in a Continuing Leading Comedic Role: Jean Yoon
  5. Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Supporting Role or Guest Role in a Comedic Series: Andrew Phung
  6. Best Direction in a Comedy Program or Series: Peter Wellington
  7. Best Achievement in Casting: Deirdre Bowen & Millie Tom
  8. Best Photography in a Comedy Program or Series: Fraser Brown
  9. Best Writing in a Comedy Program or Series: Ins Choi, Kevin White
  10. Best Writing in a Comedy Program or Series: Garry Campbell
  11. Best Picture Editing in a Comedy Program or Series: Kye Meechan


Highway Thru Hell:
