Renewed and Returning: “Animal Park,” “Masterchef”

In this week’s Renewed and Returning, there are new seasons of series on the way for BBC, MTV, Discovery and Food Network, among others.

More episodes of Animal Park (pictured), about Britain’s oldest safari park, are on the way with hosts Ben Fogle and Kate Humble. In the brand new (5 x 45′) Easter Specials, viewers get a sneak peek behind-the-scenes with the parks keepers and animals. The (10 x 45′) Summer Specials, will showcase new animals and obstacles.

MTV’s Teen Mom OG, featuring Amber, Catelynn, Farrah and Maci, is back with all-new episodes. The docuseries returns as the cast faces challenges as young parents living in the public eye. The new season of Teen Mom OG airs April 17 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.

Chef and restaurateur Aarón Sánchez will join chefs Gordon Ramsay and Christina Tosi as the third judge in season eight of the culinary competition series MasterChef, premiering summer 2017 on Fox.

Also in food TV news, the culinary elite return to the competition show, Iron Chef Gauntlet — a reboot of the Iron Chef franchise hosted by Alton Brown. The six-episode primetime show features seven extraordinary chefs competing for their chance to become an Iron Chef. The six-part series begins April 16 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Food Network.

The Food Network also plans to order additional episodes of Texas Cake House. The series, which premiered in early January, follows Austin, Texas-based, married couple, cake-makers Natalie and Dave Sideserf, owners of Sideserf Cake Studio. The series is set to launch this summer.

A second season of production is underway on the original Canadian series Heavy Rescue: 401. The show follows multiple major tow operators, rescue, and maintenance crews day and night along North America’s most intense stretch of highway, Highway 401. Ten new episodes will premiere on Discovery in early 2018.

RMC Decouverte has ordered a second series of Wheeler Dealers for the French market from independent TV prodco Pernel Media. Pernel Media will produce Discovery’s show as a (12 x 60′) series with two more episodes than the first series.

Another show about wheels, Street Outlaws, follows the nation’s most skilled street racers through months of grueling preparation and exhilarating high-stakes races. It returns to the spotlight with a new season premiering April 10 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Fast N’Loud‘s Richard Rawlings and his crew challenge Street Outlaw’s Big Chief to a race, on Discovery’s Mega Race which aired March 27 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Channel 4 has recommissioned an extended six-part run of The Job Interview, a show that follows the interview process for real jobs being offered by real employers.

TLC’s spooky series Kindred Spirits have been renewed for a second season. Currently in production, the series follows renowned ghost hunters Amy Bruni and Adam Berry as they help a new crop of real families who are being tormented by paranormal activity in their homes.

VH1′s T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle is set to air on April 17 at 10 p.m. ET/PT to offer audiences a peek behind the curtain on the end of an era as the first family of VH1 returns one last time.

Proper Television is in pre-production on season two of Tougher Than It Looks? for Discovery Canada, hosted by Andrew Younghusband. The show delves into the world of terrifying heights, extreme sports, tough trades, small spaces, and strange hobbies.

GRB Entertainment’s series Untold Stories of the ER has been renewed for season 12, with 10 brand new one-hour episodes slated to air on TLC and Discovery Life in Q4 2017. Untold Stories of the ER chronicles real emergency room cases as reenacted and recounted by the patients who experienced them and the doctors who treated them.

National Geographic’s two-time Emmy-nominated series StarTalk with Neil deGrasse Tyson will return this fall with 20 all-new episodes. StarTalk airs on National Geographic around the world in 171 countries in 45 languages and in Spanish on Nat Geo Mundo.

Season 7 of the classic entertainment game show format Who’s Who? will premiere on SVT Sweden on April 7.

The Amazing Race is back for season 22, with strangers teaming up at the starting line. The new season began March 30 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CTV.

And Flipping Virgins returns to HGTV with property expert and host Egypt Sherrod. Shot in Atlanta, Georgia, the (8×60′) series has Sherrod working with first timers who risk it all in the unpredictable world of flipping houses. Flipping Virgins airs in the U.S. on April 1 at 11 a.m. ET/PT.
